M365Conf 2023

Frane Borozan - May 8, 2023

M365Conf is over and I am so happy that I had an opportunity to discuss with current as well as future partners. I am looking forward for the next one next year. Microsoft has announced so many new things and we can clearly see that Microsoft is all in with the AI. I like it ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Below are key announcements for the SharePoint from the #M365Conf

SharePoint has always been a vital platform for organizations to create, share, and collaborate on content.

New Content Pane for Efficient Page Building:
One of the most significant updates is the new content pane, designed to make page building faster and more convenient. With content suggestions and automatically recommended layouts, creating beautiful and functional pages has never been easier.
Key features:
✅ Quickly browse and add content from across your SharePoint sites
✅ Automatic content suggestions based on the project
✅ Layout suggestions for stunning and well-organized pages

#SharePoint Integration with Email:
To improve content discoverability and reach, we have integrated SharePoint pages into email. Now you can preview and send full news posts directly to your readers’ inboxes. With six new templates designed for both email and web, as well as unified page analytics, you can efficiently track your page reads across Outlook and SharePoint.

Enhanced SharePoint and Teams Integration:
Connecting your SharePoint page to a Teams channel brings your content right to the hub for teamwork. With page editing enabled inside Teams and Connected Templates that can include SharePoint pages as channel tabs, collaboration becomes even more seamless. As a result, SharePoint usage within Teams has more than doubled in the past year.

SharePoint and Microsoft Viva:
Microsoft Viva, an employee experience and engagement platform, now provides powerful tools to generate reach and engagement on your SharePoint content. Viva Connections, Viva Engage, and Viva Amplify are designed to transform employee experiences, making your SharePoint investment even more valuable.

Viva Connections:
✅ Customizable company app with SharePoint news feed
✅ Enhanced site discoverability with Resources tab and search

Viva Engage:
✅ Share SharePoint content directly to Viva Engage communities
✅ Encourage social interaction and rich previews

Viva Amplify (coming soon):
✅ Premium analytics, multichannel publishing, and campaign management
✅ Integration with SharePoint, Teams, Viva Engage, and more

Developer Support and Upcoming Announcements:
SharePoint remains committed to supporting developers in integrating the platform deeply into their organizations’ workflows and tools. The developer models will stay consistent while their functionality continues to improve. Stay tuned for more news for developers at Microsoft Build later this month.
